多元文化教育是以尊重不同民族文化为出发点,为促进不同民族之间的相互理解,有目的、有计划地实施的一种多种文化共同教育的途径。在中国这样一个多民族国家中,各少数民族的文化应成为多元文化教育的重要内容。多元文化教育对于促进各民族间的相互理解,传承、弘扬民族文化都具有十分重要的意义。

Multi-cultural education relies on the respect of different ethnic cultures, promotes the mutual understanding between different ethnic groups and aims at carrying out a shared education for all. China is a multi-national country and its minority cultures are the important part of its multi-cultural education. Thus, multi-cultural education has great significance to the mutual understanding between different ethnic groups and to the inheritance and popularization of our ethnic cultures.
